Field Sales Manager (South) – Internal Performance Door sets

We are managing an opportunity for an experienced Field Sales Manager to take on new and existing business within a well-established one stop carpentry and joinery manufacturer to further expand throughout the UK construction, residential and commercial markets.

This is a proactive sales role within a well-established company that has become one of the UK’s largest manufacturers of carpentry and joinery products, serving both residential and commercial sectors nationwide. Ideally the right candidate will have been in a similar external role within the construction sector, building relationships with house builders and developers, contractors, sub-contractors & architects. Preferably you will have primary knowledge and expertise related to the Group’s core product ranges, internal performance Door sets and timber Staircases in the manufacture, design & installation within the intended environment. The company is confident that their cost model will enable them to be competitive in this tight market place

Key role and responsibilities

  • Actively market the company, to generate new business and tender opportunities
  • Manage existing customer base on designated territory
  • Build relationships at a senior level within the assigned accounts and be the main contact throughout the development phases of the project
  • To keep abreast of the challenges facing the sector including UK along with market dynamics from a customer and supplier basis
  • To get products specified by architects and contractors
  • To host factory tours and client training, such as tool box talks and CPD’s
  • To advise on building standards and regulatory requirements
  • To advise on product technical specifications
  • To complete liaise with internal commercial and technical departments to produce necessary paperwork and on occasions be available to provide estimates / tenders
  • Attend sales & internal meetings as and when required
  • Visit sites to conduct measurements (on occasions), hold pre start and required project meetings
  • To project manage orders through to delivery
  • Working to designated personal and team targets
  • Be an active member of the Commercial team
  • Control expenses within Budget

The successful candidate will be well educated, with a structured sales training history and record of success within a challenging sales environment. A strategic thinker, who will be comfortable converting objectives and activity; identifying business-win prospects with the capability to maximise revenue opportunities and have confidence in their ability to close a deal.
