Operations Manager – Timber Products

Our client, one of the North West’s leading suppliers of high quality timber products is seeking an experienced Operations Manager.

This family run business has been an importer and manufacturer of quality hardwoods and softwoods since 1979 with the business going from strength to strength while maintaining customer service that is second to none.

With plans to build on consistent year on year growth in 2017, they are currently looking for an exceptional Operations Manager to oversee all Transport and Yard matters. The ideal candidate will have experience working in the Timber Industry along with experience with Transport Management and other operational matters.

The Candidate should possess strong communication skills with the ability to communicate clearly with groups at all levels. You must be organised, highly motivated and computer literate; a HGV Licence would be advantageous but is not essential.

Performance Objectives:

  • Effectively and continuously manage the transport logistics and yard activities throughout the business.
  • Work closely with company directors and Mill Manager to ensure continues improvement.
  • Ensure all transport operators are operating safely and compliantly.
  • Making arrangements to ensure that the vehicles are maintained properly.
  • To plan all deliveries and organise the loading of the vehicles.

Our client is willing to offer an attractive basic salary along with pension scheme.
