Joinery: Senior Estimator

We have been retained to recruit an exceptional Senior Estimator for our client, an established yet growth-oriented privately owned manufacturer of high quality wood veneer products and bespoke joinery.

Based in Yorkshire, the company has a strong presence within the UK market and is recognised as one of the leading the manufacture, supply and fit of: Sheets and Panels, Specialist Doors, Bespoke Joinery and Marine Interiors.

The company has invested heavily in skilled people, equipment and the working environment over the past 2 years to better reflect its Clients and the services/products they require. As part of ongoing growth strategy, a position has opened up for a Senior Estimator to join the senior leadership team in order to handle more enquiries (that are more time consuming to estimate) and reduce the time in returning with the quotation/tender.

Specific responsibilities:

• Responsible for all aspects of the Estimating Department principally:
• The preparation and of all (existing Clients and Contracts) quotations and tenders issued
• Liaising with all department heads in the sourcing of costs associated with the tender submission and/or quotation, i.e. Veneer department for veneer costs, Procurement for material costs, Production for all items associated with the production of sheet materials, Joinery for all joinery and lacquering/painting, Contracts Manager for contract specific external costs
• Liaison with outside suppliers in the preparation of quotations and tender documents for all Clients (Contracts where appropriate to do so)
• The negotiation of Contract terms (in association with the Contracts manager) and contract valuations.
• Systems and procedures required within the estimating department
• Personnel within the estimating department
